Heather Markert

People Operations Coordinator

Heather brings energy, organization, and a deep commitment to community into everything she does. Raised in Fargo, North Dakota, she was inspired early on by her mother, a NICU nurse of 45 years whose tireless work ethic left a lasting impression. That same drive led Heather to immerse herself in a wide range of activities growing up, from cheerleading to DECA.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Family & Consumer Sciences Education from North Dakota State University, along with minors in Family Studies and Child Development, and later completed her Master’s degree from St. Mary’s University. Heather spent more than a decade teaching at Minnetonka High School, where she led courses in Financial Literacy, Culinary Arts, and Child Development. In addition to her classroom work, she served as Department Chair and contributed to several key committees, including the Crisis Committee, Grading Committee, and the First Mates program.

After stepping away from teaching to focus on raising her children, Heather transitioned into the business world, working as an Executive Assistant at an eyewear company before joining Grey. Her background in education, leadership, and operations gives her a unique perspective and a strong foundation for supporting teams and driving results.

Heather is also deeply involved in her community. She has served as Vice Chair of the Chanhassen Park and Recreation Commission and as a trustee for the Minnetonka Public School Foundation, where she chaired the Teacher Grant Committee. She also coordinates an annual Santa Parade that collects over 1,500 pounds of food for a local food bank and more than 750 toys for Toys for Tots.

Heather lives in Chanhassen with her husband, Cory, and their three children—Hendrix, Rosie, and Louie—along with their dog, Cora. Outside of work, she spends most of her time cheering on her kids at their various activities. When she gets a moment to herself, she enjoys heading “up North” to the cabin, traveling to new places, playing board games, and recently picked up the game of Mah Jong.
