Nikki grew up in a small town in west central Minnesota where she and her three older brothers were raised by hard-working parents. She inherited a strong work ethic and a perfect combination of grit and heart from a father who can build and fix anything and a mother gifted in caring for young children.
She spent two years studying at Bethel University, then transferred to South Dakota State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in design. She played collegiate volleyball at both Bethel and SDSU.
Nikki spent five years in the insurance/financial industry before stepping into recruiting. Her first role was working for eventual Grey owners Alissa and Lucas at another firm. From there, she moved to corporate recruiting for five years, before reuniting with the Henriksen’s under Grey Search + Strategy.
Nikki’s broad agency and corporate recruiting background, and her experience recruiting for all levels, are major assets to the Grey team. Her specialties include plant/manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, operations and product positions, with additional experience recruiting for human resources, sales, finance, legal and IT roles.
Nikki and Grey received TeamWomen’s 2019 “Wavemaker Company Champion” award for making internal women’s advancement a priority through sponsorship and mentoring programs, goal-setting, and hiring initiatives.
She and her husband, Rodney, have two boys, Caleb and Nolan. Nikki’s extra curricular time is filled with sports, boating, fishing and being outside.
